Hein Venter
Associate Professor - University of Pretoria

Hein Venter received a PhD (Computer Science) from the University of Johanneburg (formerly Rand Afrikaans University), South Africa where he worked as a lecturer from 1998 to 2002. He is a founding member of the Information and Computer Security Architectures (ICSA) Research Group at the University of Pretoria. In 2003 he joined the Department of Computer Science at the University of Pretoria, where he is currently appointed as an associate professor. His research interests lies in Digital Forensics, Access Control, Trust Management and Network Security.

Marijke Coetzee

Marijke Coetzee is an Associate Professor at the University of Johannesburg, in the Academy for Computer Science and Software Engineering. Her expertise lies in the area of Information Security and Trust Management.

Senior Lecturer - University of South Africa

Marianne Loock is a Senior Lecturer at the University of South Africa, in the School of Computing. Her main research interests are in the area of Access Control models and Information Security.

CONFERENCE HONORARY COMMITTEE

The following members are honorary committee members of the ISSA conference. These committee members are honoured for their effort as founding members of the ISSA conference since 2000. Although they are not so actively involved in organising the conference, they are still performing an important advisory roll in the conference. In 2009, Les Labuschagne joined Unisa as Professor and Director of the School of Computing. Les is a National Research Foundation (NRF) rated researcher, has co-authored a book and authored a number of journal papers. He is a regular presenter at both local and international conferences. Les is a strong believer in multi-, inter- and trans-disciplinary research as is evident from his qualifications and research outputs. Despite now pursuing a career in academic management, he remains active as a researcher and supervisor and mentor of postgraduate students..
